TAI is a donor collaborative of leading funders of global programming on transparency, accountability, and participation
Two years on from setting shared priorities for the collaborative, and one year into the resulting 2017-19 strategy, TAI members continue to adapt their thinking and practice. Having shared our learnings from the past year (see TAI’s 2017 Annual Report), the question becomes how to act on those in 2018. So, what does that look like? Our 2018 Work Plan specifies what is underway and planned. One notable thrust will be more focus on grant making practice. TAI has talked about this in the past, but that needs to shift to action this year – whether ways to ease transaction costs and strengthen grantee effectiveness or finding ways to better track and document results.
More broadly, read on for a flavor of what each TAI secretariat team member is excited by:
Applying original TAI research on grantee experience with closing civic space to inform member grantmaking practices, and a full year of TAI performance monitoring data to feedback into our management and learning practices – Alison
Further updates to our website, regular blogs from staff and members, communication products in multimedia format, closer coordination with the members’ communication teams, and monitoring and assessment of TAI’s outreach – Ava
Aligning efforts around ending corporate anonymity and, following the results of our member survey, identifying opportunities to support grantee resilience amid shrinking civic space – Lauren
Developing scenarios on the future of fiscal transparency and accountability to prompt not just new thinking but new approaches – Michael
