This Collaboration Case Note describes TAI efforts to address the oftentimes burdensome reporting requirements that grantees face. TAI facilitated a working group of funder member program officers to compare reporting requirements across funders and identify a pilot cohort of grantee organizations for aligned reporting. This collaboration yielded a reduced reporting burden for one grantee organization and ongoing conversations with two others around aligned timelines, templates, and metrics for their respective reporting. While the participating funders generally have similar grantmaking principles and a shared desired to reduce the organizational burden for grantees, the flexibility of funder institutional processes varies widely. More time is needed to assess whether alignment will ultimately reduce the burden and strengthen the learning potential of grant reporting.
